The Focus of PMRExpo 2016 – Public-Safety Authorities and Organizations

24 Nov. 2016   News

PMRExpo 2016, the leading European trade fair for Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) and control centers, is underway. Nearly 190 exhibitors and a comprehensive program of presentations will offer up-to-date information, contacts and topics of discussion 22-24 November in Cologne, Germany. HQT, a professional communications solutions provider and China’s two-way radios supplier for public safety, is one of the exhibitors and exhibits at Booth: Hall 10.2--A08.

North Rhine-Westphalia Minister of the Interior (MOI) and Local Government Ralf Jaeger opened the show. The keynote speaker on 23 November was Andreas Gegenfurtner, president of the Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS). His remarks specifically addressed representatives of emergency services.
Further topics of the conference includes various aspects of IT security, critical infrastructure, the suitability of commercial mobile radio networks for mission-critical broadband services or economic benefits of telemetry applications and use of data modems in the PMR system.

On 24 November, in 10 presentations, attendees will learn the latest on threat situations facing command and control centers and public-safety control centers, operating as cloud services. Four experts will exchange views on cybersecurity and IT security in a panel discussion. The day will begin with an opening presentation by Franz Schiffer, manager of Command and Situation Reporting Systems/Infrastructure, Hesse Police Headquarters for Technology, Logistics and Management.

Digital security is becoming ever more important in an increasingly networked world, the organization said. The risk of cyber attacks is ever-present when surfing the internet or sending emails, and in remote control of systems or online banking. Holger Junker, head of the Central Reporting Office and National IT Situation Report Centre Division, Federal Office for Security in Information Technology (BSI) will focus on the highly topical subject. The conference will highlight what experts will have to say about the subject of “security for the security forces — the current and future cyber threat level for control centers and companies” in Cologne.

A program for different target groups will provide a wide selection of further information in addition to the Congress on Control Centres and the PMR Specialist Conference for Utilities. The five specialist forums, which will be held at the heart of the trade fair, will concentrate on panel discussions with the public on particular aspects of PMR. The Indoor Coverage Forum will be of interest to visitors from the police, fire brigade and emergency services, and will cover more about the background, requirements, potential and dangers of installation of a high-performance in-house radio system within the national German public-safety digital radio network. The International Public Safety Forum will provide a view across national borders. A panel of international experts will present and discuss various technical concepts and objectives in the use of digital public-safety radio and security-critical communications.

HQT has DMR Solution R&D Center and Analog Product R&D Center with over 20% of its total revenue in R&D, and most of the products have CE, OFTA, FCC certificates, RF and EMC reports. Currently, it has International Sales Department, Domestic Sales Department, Marketing Department and Technical Support Department.
